recovery & care

Recovery & Care ServeTeams help to meet spiritual, physical, mental and/or emotional needs of adults. Whether you want to make an impact locally or globally, we have something for you!

Addiction Recovery

We partner with the Charlotte Rescue Mission to help transform lives in the name of Christ by serving people struggling with addiction, poverty, or hopelessness with the goal of returning them to society as productive, self-sufficient citizens. This team serves once a month.

Prison Ministry

We address the needs of incarcerated men, women and youth by providing homemade cookies and sharing the love of Jesus Christ and the hope of the Gospel through the Kairos Prison Ministry. This team serves twice a year.

Nursing Home Ministry

Recognizing the need for companionship and fellowship with adults, we partner with the Mecklenburg Health & Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte and provide teams of visitors to talk, laugh, sing or just visit and pray with residents. This ServeTeam volunteers once a month on Saturdays.

Disaster Relief*

Samaritan's Purse provides spiritual and physical aid (food, medicine, etc.) to victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine around the world. We partner with Samaritan's Purse to provide local rapid response teams that deploy during times of disaster.

Special Needs & Disabilities*

Good Shepherd partners with Joni and Friends and The Sandbox organizations to provide volunteers, resources and care to children with special needs, life-altering illnesses and/or disabilities.

Human Trafficking*

We partner with On Eagles Wings Ministries to help prevent girls from falling victim to human trafficking, offering assistance to those trapped in human trafficking and providing resources to help restore and empower survivors.

*Indicates a partner-managed outreach opportunity. The organization's website will provide more information on how to get involved.
